Someone Who Makes Me Proud

Someone Who Makes Me Proud

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and it has me thinking about my handsome husband and all of his accomplishments. Westin will be graduating in May with a degree in Kinesiology from Tarleton University. We could not be more excited. Our little family is trusting in the Lord to lead us where we need to be. So thankfully I am not worried. Just curious to see where we will end up. I have no doubt God’s will, will be done.
Westin has made me so proud. I never imagined I would find such an outstanding father to my child. Watching him become a father to Paislea has been such a blessing. He is so loving and absolutely smitten with that little girl. It makes me fall in love with him a little more each day.
I can’t wait to watch him impact young lives and thrive doing what he loves. Watching him coach is truly amazing. He is in his element on the bench. It is his happy place. I am so thrilled to watch him grow as a person, teacher and coach.
We will celebrate our 4 year dating anniversary as well as our 2 year wedding anniversary on March 10th.  Westin is my best friend, father to our amazing daughter and the love of my life. I have been so blessed with a wonderful husband.
No marriage is perfect and ours is no exception. We disagree and have our fall outs. However, we vowed to stay together death do us part and we plan on doing just that. I would not trade Westin or the life we have built together for anything. God is so good.
Until Next Time,
Lindsea :)

From 2016 to 2017!

From 2016 to 2017!

From my point of view, 2016 had some pretty high moments and some low points. Let's just say it was a roller coaster. I made some great friends and had some great memories! This was definitely a year to remember. I traveled, got my license, experienced a few new things, and many more things. I also got more involved in school events and acquired school spirit!

The friends I have made have influenced my life in such a great, positive way and I thank the world for them. I think I grew a lot closer with my family also.. just a tighter bond! {I am incredibly thankful for my family}

During 2016, I traveled all the way to North Dakota with my mom to see my brother. I'd have to say, it was the longest drive I've ever endured! It was lots of fun and i experienced a whole new climate and environment from Texas! {the sunsets were to die for}

For 2017, I expect this year to be fantastic! I hope to get out of my comfort zone a little to explore! Travel more, go out and do things! I hope to better myself and help people around me! Don't let people get me down and to be myself!

During 2017, I will finally turn 17 and I'll even start my senior year in August! (Which is crazy to me!!) My boyfriend will graduate and head on to college! I get my braces off in February! (I'm really excited for that!) Through the crazy adventures in life that await me, I will pull through it with a smile on my face!

Love, Taylor(:

Looking Back at 2016 and Looking Ahead to 2017

The year of 2016 will forever hold a place in my heart as many special memories were made...just as they are every year!! As you already know I’m a huge fan of the easy accessible Pinterest App that I look at on a Daily Basis and found a Neat Way of Looking Back at the Year of 2016. I created a {Year in Review Fill-In Chart}, so I could organize My Year in Review of 2016. See Below for yourself...I've also listed out my Year in Review below.

The year of 2017 will hold just as many memories that 2016 did, lots of them just adding another year to the situation!

I’m a little sad that 2016 has come to an end, but am so excited to see what God has in store for the New Year. God has Blessed My Family more than words can ever express. Each year I look forward to meeting new people, and also continuing my relationship with the people I met the year before. Here’s to the Year of 2017 and all that comes with it!

“God has more in store for you than you can even imagine.”

2017 Goals

2017 Goals

I look forward to and love the New Year! Don't get me wrong I love the holidays and having so much family and a house full of love. However, how refreshing is a new start and setting goals for the upcoming year?

Goals can be hard to stick to. After the excitement of change wears off it can become easy to slip right back into old habits. I encourage you to find an accountability partner or group! My accountability partner is my husband, Westin at home. As he has similar goals in striving to lose weight and becoming healthier. (He is a certified personal trainer and about to start his last semester of college to be a coach and teacher). At work, Hannah and I try to keep each other motivated since we are together so often through out the week.

My Personal Goals for 2017 and Tips to Stay on Track

•Making God a priority in my daily routine. Sometimes life gets hectic and we forget to take care of ourselves. Emotionally and physically. Set aside time each day to spend time with God. Even if you have to wake up 20 minutes early to read a devotional. Remember just like any relationship... it takes work and spending time with one another to grow and become stronger. I love listening to podcasts while getting ready or doing house chores. The one I am loving at the moment is called Watermark Audio: Marriage Channel. Highly recommend giving it a listen!

•Practice being a supportive and understanding wife. Due to Westin finishing up school he stays busy. It is easy to point out all the things he forgets to do instead of understanding how much he does to finish his degree so he can provide for our family. Keep in mind all the things he is doing and the sacrifices he makes everyday to better himself. I love to sit down and ask him ways I can show him love or how I can help him with anything.

•Spend more time with Paislea and practice speaking love and encouragement to her. For anyone who doesn't have kids yet you might not fully grasp the love between a parent and child. Before Paislea I know I didn't. She reminds me everyday just how amazing and loving our God is. It is fascinating to watch her grow and develop a personality. As parents our #1 job is to show our children a loving relationship with the Lord. As Westin and I strengthen our faith in God we pray to teach and set an example for Paislea as well.

•Make healthier decisions. Treat my body like a temple. In a world of sweets and junk food... it can be challenging to be healthy. Eating junk 24/7 causes my body to feel drowsy, weak and gain unwanted weight. Keep a bottle of water with you to keep hydrated. Pick up a planner to schedule out meals and workouts. (this is a LIFESAVER in our house) Meal prepping will keep you eating healthier choices and saving money from not eating out as often. Treat yourself. Don't deprive yourself. Make healthier alternatives to some of your favorite soul foods and have a cheat meal every few weeks. Get moving. Working out doesn't have to be terrible or super intense. Find an activity you ENJOY doing so you won't dread working out. Westin and I have enjoyed a Country Dancing workout! Yes, he thinks it's kinda fun and we are able to spend some quality time together while doing it! Paislea loves to join in as well!

With all of this being said I hope you all have a wonderful, fulfilling year and stick with all your New Year resolutions!

Until next time,
Lindsea

3…2…1…HAPPY {almost} NEW YEAR!

3…2…1…HAPPY {almost} NEW YEAR!

Confetti and Sparklers might just be the two best words that help me describe New Year’s Eve! Whether you are spending time with that special someone or just want to have fun with friends…Confetti and Sparklers are sure to be involved!!

One of my Favorite things about the Holidays is being able to create DIY items that in return give you CUTE Pictures…and this year for New Year’s Eve I’ve decided to create DIY Confetti Poppers for the other RG Girls and Myself to take a {Cute & Memorable} Picture!

What You’ll Need:
1. Empty Toilet Paper Rolls
2. Good Quality Balloons
3. Scissors
4. Spray Paint and Glitter {Optional}
5. Your Choice of Filler

First, gather your TP rolls, balloons, and scissors. You can make your own Confetti Poppers with just these three items.

Tie a Knot at the end of the balloon and cut a very small section off of the other end.
Next Stretch the cut section over the end of your TP roll. {Make Sure to Have a Few Spare Balloons} The Higher Quality Helium style balloons work much better.
The hard parts over…Now just pour your choice of filler into the open end of the toilet TP roll. I chose to use Confetti and Glitter for my fillers.

That’s practically all you need to do to make a DIY Confetti Popper, but if you’re anything like me, you’ll make sure it looks pretty too! So that’s when the Spray Paint and Glitter come in handy ;)

Once you decorate it…the Fun Begins…because all you do is Pull back on the Knot “Handle”…Let Go…and Watch the Confetti and Glitter shoot out!! It even makes a loud popping sound. Refill Over and Over again for even more fun! Watch My Video by Clicking the Link Below!!

Lindsea's Thanksgiving Lookbook

Lindsea's Thanksgiving Lookbook

Thanksgiving is always a special time for me. Westin, Paislea and I have the opportunity to go see my family, Westin's older sister, Lauren and her fiancé, Jake. I grew up in a small town about an hour North of Dallas. It's about a 3.5 hour drive so it can become a long experience with an active 2 year old.
Fun fact: My home town of Van Alstyne is where Westin and I knew of each other. His mom, Lara was my 7th grade math teacher.
{I'm sure most of you know that because she loves to tell everyone she loved me first lol}
Since Thanksgiving is one of the few times I get to go home I like to make sure I look by best! Here are a few Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Hannah's Thanksgiving Lookbook

Hannah's Thanksgiving Lookbook

Upon deciding our Blog Topics for each week of November, Lindsea came up with the idea of each of us doing a {Thanksgiving Lookbook}! So naturally I said yes, because who doesn't LOVE getting Dressed Up for Thanksgiving Day?!? So therefore, Lindsea and I both created a different Thanksgiving Lookbook that express the different styles each of our hearts follow.

Out of the four seasons, Fall is definitely the most beautiful in colors...that is of course if you ask me. So I wanted to show you the trendiest styles of the season that I would pick for myself to wear on this day of {Giving Thanks}. I personally FALL-in-LOVE with items that give off the "Girly-Girl" look, however I'm known to be seen in Neutrals from time to time.

Outfit #1
There's something about our {Alura Windsor Dress in Burgundy} that instantly caught my attention, and if I'm being honest with you I'd tell you that this isn't a dress I would normally pick out for myself, but when I saw all of the details it had to offer...I just had to try it on. Of course when I tried it on I instantly fell in love. I paired it with our {Brown Tonal Fab Over the Knee Boots}.

Outfit #2
When I first started dating my husband I was a girl who was definitely set in her ways {HAHA...who am I kidding...I still am} I remember how much I disliked Camo and anything related to Hunting. Now we've been together for four years, married one of the four and long story short I currently have a "Camo/Deer" themed room in our house...he somehow got me liking the idea of that "Style". So when I put together this outfit I just had to give him a little credit, as it's actually super cute!!
***Get the Outfit by Clicking the Links***
White Camo Top
Charcoal Grey Vest
Dear John Jeans
Vine Booties
Plum Clutch

Outfit #3
If I was to sum up my "Go-To Dress Up Outfit" our Harper Lace Top in Chocolate Falcon would be at the top of my list. The {Lace and Lace-Up Tie} scream Trendy this Fall. Pair it with our Dear John Joyrich Moss Skinnies and Vine Booties in Grey for the ideal "Thanksgiving Look".

Thanks for stopping by to read my Blog!!

Have a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving from My Family to Yours!

Meet Taylor!

Meet Taylor!

Hello, my name is Taylor Brice! I can't wait for you to learn a little about me!

I started working at Rustic Grace in July of 2016. This is my first job and I'm lucky enough to love it! I love being able to work with two amazing women everyday. They are great role models, in my opinion.

I am 16 years old and attend Comanche ISD as a junior. I met my boyfriend {Tyler Preston} as a freshman. He was a sophomore! We've been dating for about One Year and Seven Months.
He will be graduating this year and I'll be stuck here one more year!
I have a big baby who's quite furry named Hallie. She is a German Shepard Mix and we've had her for about 3 years now and she's the sweetest thing ever! I am blessed to have a very loving family, who will support me through anything. I have one sibling, my older brother. I have the best friends in the world and I can't thank them enough for keeping up with me the past few years.
Working at Rustic Grace has taught me to be outgoing and speak up from my shy personality and bloom into a new person! This leads to my favorite part of the job: the customers! I love seeing all the customers and becoming friends with more people. I've met more people recently than I ever have!
Love,
Taylor :)

Inspiring Future Fashionistas

Inspiring Future Fashionistas

Bright and early around 7:30ish-8ish AM every morning…my sweet babies AKA German Shepherds make a plan to wake me up to “Go Potty” more like to “Go Play” :/ So while they “Potty-Play” I take the time to read all of my unopened emails that I received throughout the night or early that morning…as well as check both Rustic Grace and my personal social media pages. Most emails are advertising, however every now and then an email that’s exciting will pop up.

And about a week and a half ago that “exciting email” was from Darla Taylor, a fourth grade math teacher at our local Elementary School. She informed me that her GT {Gifted and Talented} math class was currently working on a project called “Math around Town”. For the project each student was to choose a career they’d like to have and interview a person in that field. Lucky enough a student of hers was interested in the world of Fashion, and that just so happened to fall under my job title.

As excited as I was, I’m not going to lie, I was also a tad bit nervous as she also informed me that most of the interview questions would be about how I used math in my job. Fortunately I grew up with a math teacher for a mom, so math had always been a strong suit of mine, but as I’m sure most of you know technology has made most jobs quite easy in the math department.

I quickly responded to her email and let her know that I would love to help her student out in any way I possibly could. That Friday her sweet student contacted me to set up an appointment that would work best for the both of us. We planned on meeting together on the following Tuesday.

Tuesday rolled around and I remember texting my mom asking her how my job involved math LOL…I obviously knew how I used math in my job, but wanted to be sure I was prepared, so I didn’t give false hope to the girl who would be interviewing me. Later that evening around 4:30 a blonde hair and brown eyed little girl came right through the front doors of Rustic Grace…I knew exactly who she was as she looked just like a little fashionista.

We started by introducing ourselves and then quickly started the “interview” once we were all settled. Her very first question was exactly as I had planned…”How does your job involve math?” I quickly answered as I had been preparing myself for this question all day. The following questions involved the details of my job in fashion. I vividly remember her asking me…”What’s your favorite thing about your job?” Although there are a lot of things I would consider favorites…I remembering answering with “Customers” and then also the delayed response of “Shopping” after a little giggle from her, her response was “Who doesn’t love shopping.” {The TRUE Response of a Fashionista!}

After answering all of her questions I wanted to give her a little souvenir from Rustic Grace, and a badge to make her official. Having the opportunity to speak with such a passionate young lady reminds me of just how blessed I am to have such a supportive community. I have no doubt that she will thrive in the fashion world.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

{The first ever picture that Westin and I took together right here in Comanche.}

Moving to a new town where the only people you know are your husband’s family can be hard and uncomfortable. When I moved to Comanche three years ago, the adjustment was difficult. I had no friends besides Westin, Hannah and Kristy…Kristy is a friend from High School that attended college at Tarleton University in Stephenville TX.

Having the opportunity to work at Prosperity Bank brought me to meet one of my best friends, Juana. We both have children and still talk weekly. She is the type of friend that adds so much joy to your life. Her family has been such a blessing to my family’s life.

Rustic Grace has been an amazing job opportunity. I get to do something I truly enjoy every day with Hannah and Taylor, two women I think the world of. I am able to learn new things every day about business and customer service.

Not only has Rustic Grace been a career opportunity it is an awesome way to get to know so many of our lovely customers and come to call them friends. Getting out of our comfort zone can be a challenge, but I also see it as a fun and exciting new task. Take the opportunities you are given and run with them. Make the most out of all stages of your life and thrive. I have grown to love Comanche. I look forward to seeing what Rustic Grace as a company and The Wilhelm family can accomplish in this little town we call home.

Love,
Lindsea
